Música de 2010

Quase no final destes 365 dias que contarão a história de 2010, e à semelhança do que aconteceu nos outros anos que este cantinho já leva, deito-me a pensar naquilo que ouvi e que merece figurar na minha lista de preferências. Mais uma vez os critérios são os mais subjectivos possíveis e a apresentação segue a ordem alfabética. No entanto, se destes dez álbuns tivesse de escolher um só, optaria por "Have one on me" de Joanna Newsom. Este, em particular, e os outros, são paisagens sonoras que vi, vivi e ouvi de forma especial e que, por isso mesmo, permanecerão no tempo.

• Beach House | Teen Dream ("Teen Dream is a stirring reminder that good things can happen when you move out of your comfort zone.")
• Chris Joss | Monomaniacs Vol.1 ("Like a long lost vintage LP plucked from a time capsule buried sometime in the 1970’s this album brings Joss back to a distinctly traditional and dusty funk groove")
• David Sylvian | Sleepwakers ("Thoughtful, considered, sombre yet still capable of surprising, it is surely set to be recognised as one of 2010's more cerebral listening pleasures")
• Deerhunter | Halcyon Digest ("Deerhunter has found the perfect balance between noisy adventurism and pop immediacy on its latest album".)
• The Divine Comedy | Bang Goes The Knightwood ("And he approaches it all with a sense of unbridled melodrama that sometimes makes the humor hard to separate from the serious musing.")
• Gil Scott-Heron | I'm New Here ("An unlikely but triumphant return, packed full of sadness and experience.")
• Joanna Newsom | Have One On Me ("When I hear Newsom sing the word "easy" in "Suffice" and my mind jumps back to the opener, it reinforces just how many threads she's weaved between those songs and how incredible it is to discover new things with every listen.")
• LCD Soundsystem | This Is Happening ("its electronic textures thrum and shimmy, and wall after sonic wall is built up and torn down with impeccable precision.")
• of Montreal | False Priest ("The delivery and confidence is immediately comparable to Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, except for the fact that False Priest offers production with greater clarity")
• Perfume Genius | Learning ("Learning is one of the finest illustrations of human emotion ever captured on record. Just make sure you have a box of tissues nearby.")
